now with the beach. For the first time, I advise you to walk a circle along the road (either to the right along a quiet street or to the left along noisy shops and barkers) 15-30 minutes as you go. but in general, leave the hotel, on the left 50 meters there is a cafe with a swimming pool and there in the bushes on the right (stone stairs) along the path to the bottom 5 minutes at a leisurely pace and you are on the beach. what kind of food to choose decides for himself, we took all inclusive to always be fed. for young people on the beach there is everything pizza (3 lion big piece) makduck, all sorts of cafes restaurants, well, I think the prices if eating in cafes will be even a little more expensive. discos on the beach daytime (again with the Germans). Night discos are like that if all inclusive then we did so in the evening we sat in the hotel until 10 (alcohol ends selling at 10). Before closing, we collected alcohol and sat. you get a snack before 9 pm as much as you want and you sit and no one says anything. and then to disco. they have a street party. barkers near each disco but you can't write it off. we liked the Russian disco free entry and a glass of vodka and cucumber.
Well, probably all the sensations, a lot of things, it will not be possible to convey a very large text.
We as a family of 4 people (3 adults and 1 child) rested in Pliska in the second half of August.
We arrived at the hotel around 18.30, the key was given to us pretty quickly and we went to look for our room.
Our apartment was on the 3rd floor, but since the hotel is located "in the mountain", the number of storeys does not correspond to the view from the window. In fact, we ended up with the first floor, overlooking the terrible, filthy mountain vegetation. There (on the balcony) it was really damp, dark and scary, and apart from these trees nothing could be seen. Maybe for someone this is not important, but we like to sit on the balcony in the evening without exotic insects, so the children were upset. In short... in the morning my husband went to the manager and we were offered 2 apartments to choose from without any problems. We chose on the 8th floor and the whole stay was very satisfied with it.
HOTEL without territory vaasche. Only a bassist and a tiny playground next to it, broken to pieces, although the idea (design and location) is good. There is a shop, there was the cheapest sparkling water and soap. WiFi in the lobby. Audibility in the rooms from the corridor is just awesome, the doors are made of thin plywood. Luckily, we had quiet neighbors on the floor and our room was at the end of the corridor…
NUTRITION. We had an all-inclusive. Breakfasts, as in most Bulgarian hotels: eggs of all kinds, cereals, cheese, sausages, nasty sausage, delicious honey, buns... Dinner-like dinners were sometimes good, sometimes there was nothing to choose from. But there were always a variety of vegetables and meat, or chicken. From fruits: watermelon for every meal, melon, peaches, apples, plums... My eldest daughter and I just ate watermelon, melon (Bulgarian) has a slightly specific taste, but also nothing, peaches are luxurious, we never took other fruits. There were all sorts of mini-cookies... The coffee was so-so (I've been to another hotel and it's just disgusting), tea with water from the cooler was not brewed, and UPI, of course, where without them. I don’t know for sure what was included in alcoholic drinks - they took beer and gin tonic - they didn’t get poisoned. Ice cream was given for an afternoon snack, you scoop any variety directly from the boxes...
Two most unpleasant dudes work in the lobby bar, in the canteen itself, girls-boys are, in principle, fast and friendly. Plastic cups are washed open.
During the first week of our stay in the canteen and the pool, it was moderately crowded: there were always sunbeds free, and there were no tables and queues for food. And then the Romanians came in large numbers (and I realized that it turned out to be a racist). Boorish, unpleasant gypsies who come in huge clans, apparently this hotel is focused on them (at the entrance there are signs with a menu in 2 languages: English and Romanian). It became impossible to get to the food (I am silent about ice cream !!! ), it was crowded in the pool, in general, they were annoying. Sorry Romanians.
POOLS - 3. two open and a warm indoor one Between the "seas" we also frolic there... The indoor one is especially good. There is a sauna - for a fee and like a gym on the upper lobby, but we did not see it.
ROOM, I repeat that we had an apartment, clean, spacious, with a fenced-in bed (namely, a bed, and not with shifted mattresses), a double sofa, a folding chair, and so on. In general, compared to the standard, go double, there is plenty of space, respectively, and the balcony is large. TV is old. There is no hair dryer. The maid turned the swans for money and threw out the garbage.
The BEACH and the approach to it is a bit of a disappointment. It seems to be close to the beach, and not to approach, because of the Riviera. True, then by experience we figured out that the Riviera is happiness. The first morning, the children and I naively rushed into the main entrance of the Riviera (the night before we easily passed through it) and they kindly showed me where to go. Fortunately, thanks to Julia, T's review, we quickly orientated along the road and came to the free zone of the Riviera, and left through the main entrance. In the evening we went to the same Riviera (through Preslav), only from the other side (where there is a large, warm source of hydrogen sulfide), and went out again through the main entrance, in general we got used to it... and did not even strain. And on the beach of the Sands themselves, in an area where there are no sun loungers, there is even nowhere to stand, not only to lie down and it is SO VERY DIRTY, thanks to our fellow tourists.
Fleas and midges raged on the beach for several days. We (except the youngest), however, like all the people on the beach, were terribly bitten and itched without interruption, no antihistamines helped either locally or internally. Just to the point of hysteria, I no longer wanted to go to the sea, then, fortunately, they suddenly disappeared.
For some reason, our family did not like Golden Sands themselves. This is purely subjective, because. there were no particular reasons for dissatisfaction. The resort is like a resort. For teenagers - youth - fun, for small ones: a couple of rocking chairs and inflatable slides.
We went to the Aquapolis water park, it is located almost behind the hotel, closer than to the sea. For beginners, it will do... For us, the slides were not enough, the kids were great!
We took a taxi to Varna, although buses run from a stop near the hotel (No. 409). Because of the heat, we could not enjoy the Varna sketches, the youngest began to whine, we went to the grand mall. For those who do not have the opportunity to travel abroad, shopping there will undoubtedly seem wonderful.
In general, the holiday was SUCCESSFUL. The hotel is normal, if without any complaints, then you can go
Fruits included watermelons, melons and green plums. The hotel food is monotonous and a small selection of dishes. The room was practically not cleaned, after 2 leva the towels were changed and then again (by some miracle). It was very annoying that all the public places in the hotel were without air conditioning - the halls, the restaurant. Very stuffy and hot. Again, I can not compare with Turkey or Egypt, but another feature of almost all Bulgarian (including 3 *, 4 * and 5 *) hotels is that the outdoor air conditioner unit is located on the balcony of the room - i. e. it is unrealistic to open the door - you get into a gas chamber)). If your A/C is off, there is another one nearby. It turns out that the entire hotel outside is heated in addition to the 40-degree heat.
Drunk and screaming Germans in hotels - this is probably the misfortune of all hotels in Bulgaria - the first night we did not sleep, then, really, nothing
My conclusion is to Bulgaria - either a good hotel with normal food, or another country. Just reading the reviews and looking at the photos of hotels, you can oh how wrong. Pliska does not pull on a solid 3. I specially remembered the names of those I liked, but I only remember the nearby "Elena" and "Dolce Vita" (and a couple more at the other end of Golden Sands)
Now in order. The room was a family room, they gave apartments 2 rooms with a sea view +, the remote control from the air conditioner and the TV was in the room did not pay extra +. In the room you need to insert
card on the keys in a special slot so that there was light, inserted a card from the payphone there and the air conditioner blew constantly and the beer in the refrigerator was constantly cooling when we left +.
They cleaned every day, the towel was changed constantly if you throw it on the floor, the linen was changed once and some kind of fans were spinning, when I left I gave the maid a tip of 5 lev, was
Satisfied, she said that the Germans and Romanians are miserly, and the Russians always give good tips, the room is wet cleaned +. Drunk Romanians and Germans yell at night, but fortunately we don’t
heard +. Normal food will not leave you hungry, breakfasts are monotonous eggs in different types, sausages, sausages, cheeses, salads are different, pastries, fruits, tea and coffee, and yupi +. Dinner 2 types
soups, potatoes are different, pork, beef or chicken salads are different, pastries, fruits, tea and coffee, well, UPI +. The hotel has 2 indoor and outdoor pools where you can splash, and
the territory is small, but in principle it is not needed; you need to walk around the resort there are shops, cafes, entertainment and all sorts of garbage +. We always dined in different establishments approximately
50 lev for four people who didn’t eat up, they took it with them, you can even give a box +.
they liked the bleach better, but we didn’t insist it’s a vacation +. We went to Varna for a walk, it’s not a small town, we went to the Aladzha monastery, it’s up above the sands, we went
a jeep safari is a cool thing, buy excursions on the beach there cheaper and go to the water park, it’s better to go at 16.00 and cheaper and there are fewer people on the slides +. Older
the generation speaks Russian well, and the young people speak more and more English, but it didn’t soar for us, you can always agree +.
As you can see, we didn’t look for cons, although they can be found everywhere, take a good mood and enjoy life, we have one!!!
If you ask me anything, I’ll answer, but at the end of August I’m leaving for the village to finish my vacation.
